Semicolons are the breath between endings and beginnings, a quiet promise that the story isn’t over yet. They turn stops into pauses, letting thoughts linger just long enough before pushing forward into something new—a reflection of the time in my life when I, too, was in a semicolon.

Without Ending

This is a story without ending,
Take an elevator to the third floor.
She went into her apartment,
And fell down at the door.
She shook her head in disbelief,
Wiped the tears from her sleeve.
He said it wasn't her fault,
He said, "it's just me."
And I wonder is everything okay?
Will I be here...
When the storm clouds go away?
I won't stay, not one more day,
for you to... break me
I'm breaking again
there's no way you can erase this I am breaking again.
This is a heart without mending,
No one to depend on but herself.
Too bad he couldn't see her,
Too bad he wouldn't stay a little longer.
And I wonder is everything okay?
Will I be here...
When the storm clouds go away?
I won't stay not one more day,
for you to... break me
I'm breaking again
there's no way you can erase this I am breaking again.
I won't stay not one more day,
for you to... break me
I'm breaking again
there's no way you can erase this I am breaking again.
